Kendrys Morales Pulled Off An Awesome Slide That Made The Catcher Whiff On The Tag

Kendrys Morales tested Jose Bautista's arm on a hit to right field. He attempted to score and Joey Bats put the throw right on the money. Out right?

Not so fast. Morales put the brakes on his slide and popped up short causing catcher Russell Martin to whiff on the tag, he then stepped on the plate for the run.

Surprisingly umpire Angel Hernandez didn't blow the call. What a slide by Morales.

MLB Trade Deadline Passes And The Yankees Did Nothing

The Yankees are still 6 games up in the AL East. But they let the trade deadline come and go without doing anything. And by not doing anything I mean they somehow managed to get worse.

The only move they make was trading prospects for Dustin Ackley. Ackley is hitting a robust .215 on the season. He plays second base as well as several outfield positions. Don't the Yankees already have soft hitting second basemen and back up outfielders?

WTF kind of move is this?

Meanwhile the Blue Jays added a power bat to an already potent lineup in Troy Tulowitzki and an ace in David Price. They're ready to pounce.

The UFC 190 weigh ins were held today. Naturally that comes with a staredown photo op. The Ronda Rousey-Bethe Correia staredown featured Correia barking like a crazy person and Rousey leaving no doubts about her intentions.

I think Rousey might just be motivated to kill Correia. This one is personal and Correia might have stirred up something we haven't seen from Rousey before. That spells trouble for Correia.

WTF? Rowdy Roddy Piper Is Dead At The Age Of 61

TMZ is reporting that WWE legend "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has died at the age of 61 from natural causes. He died in his sleep around noon on Friday.

Piper -- born Roderick George Toombs -- died from cardiac arrest in his sleep at his home in Hollywood at around noon Friday.

Roddy is survived by his wife Kitty and their 4 kids -- including 3 daughters and son Colton who's pursuing a career in professional wrestling.

What a crappy way to kick off the weekend. Piper was always an entertaining guy inside and outside of the ring.

Chris Mortensen Falsely Reported The PSI Of The Patriots Footballs Involved In Deflategate

Chris Mortensen falsely reported that 11 of the 12 footballs involved in deflategate were underinflated by 2 pounds. He received that information from NFL vice president of game operations Mike Kensil.

Mortensen was set to clear the air on a Boston radio station this morning but backed out of the interview. He did however release a statement addressing both skipping out on the Dennis & Callahan show interview and his thoughts on Tom Brady's suspension, via WEEI:

"You guys made a mistake by drumming up business for the show and how I would address my reporting for the first time,” Mortensen emailed D&C. “I will not allow WEEI [Robert] Kraft or anybody to make me the centerpiece of a story that has been misreported far beyond anything I did in the first 48 hours. Maybe when the lawsuit is settled, in Brady’s favor, I hope, we can revisit. Don’t call.”

Looks more like the NFL went all in with inaccurate information and actively distorted the facts of deflategate. They've kept that up by alleging Brady destroyed his phone.

Is there any doubt that Brady's suspension is BS and needs to be overturned.

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks finally got a deal done that will keep their Super Bowl winning quarterback in Seattle for at least four more years. The deal is for 4 years and $87.6 million with upwards of $60 million guaranteed.

Yesterday opened up training camp for the Patriots and all of the nut jobs were out in full strength. Not only did the fans go into a full stampede when the gates opened. Then there was this guy who wants to tell Tom Brady he loves him and he want to propose to him.

The Mets Ground Crew Had An Awful Time Putting The Tarp On The Field

The Mets struggles have spread to the grounds crew. They lost two out of three to the Padres and six out of their last 10. During one of the rain delays in yesterday's loss the grounds crew struggled to get the field covered by the tarp.

On top of that the Mets announcers didn't stop and kept on announcing the tarp struggles. Pretty laughable stuff from a laughable organization.

They better get it turned around quickly. They have a pretty big series against the Nationals that starts today.

Deflategate doesn't seem to be bothering Tom Brady any. The Patriots quarterback, who is fighting his deflategate suspension in court, made a one handed catch on a trick play and took it in for a touchdown.

That's one way to open up training camp. A little trick play for the Patriots fans, why not?

J.J. Watt is a freak of nature. Not only can he do it all on the football field he can also swing a bat. He might mess around and get a contract offer from the Astros.

They have a lot of hitters who don't do anything but go deep. Watt's batting practice session is pretty impressive.

This is what happens when you pitch out when a hit and run is on. I don't know if that was the case and Reds fans aren't too happy Yadier Molina, but he did disrupt the pitch out.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a batter throw a bat at a pitch out. Especially not in the MLB. There is a first time for everything.

According Mets GM, Sandy Alderson, there is no deal and there will not be a deal for Carlos Gomez. He went on to blame the media and social media for getting ahead of the story and for making Wilmer Flores cry during the game.

Could this night be more of a perfect picture of how things go with the Mets? I mean it's a deal that actually makes sense, looks like it almost happened and then Alderson acts like there weren't even trade talks and the trade deadline isn't approaching.

Brian Kenny Blames The Irish For Baseball Having Umpires

Brian Kenny rambled on about electronic umpires calling balls and strikes tonight on the MLB Network, again making any show he's on almost unwatchable.

He blamed the need for umpires in the early days on Irishmen. As he put it, "we needed umpires at the very start mainly as cops and bouncers." Kenny continued his idiotic thought with this gem, "it was a melee out in the fields of Hoboken, cause the Irishmen would just fight."

Oh really that's the reason we have umpires in baseball...what an ass.

Panthers Practice Squad Receiver Stephen Hill Charged With Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia

Former second round pick turned practice squad player for the Panthers, Stephen Hill, is making it hard to hang around in the NFL. Hill hasn't been on the active roster since 2013 and really needs to show improvement in order to return to the a five roster isn't doing himself any favors.

Hill was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the Charlotte area. The incident couldn't have come at a worse time as the Panthers report for camp on Thursday.

Robert Kraft Did A Press Conference Backing Brady And Slamming The League

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft apologized to the Patriots fans for accepting the deflategate punishment handed down by the NFL. Sounds like Kraft expected the deal to help the NFL overturn Tom Brady's suspension.

Now that the suspension has been upheld Kraft is back slamming the league and Roger Goodell. I wonder if Goodell backed out on a deal with Kraft and decided to uphold the suspension anyway.

If that's the case you have to believe the Goodell-Kraft relationship is dead.

Andre Ethier Got Robbed Of A Hit And Took Out His Frustrations On His Equipment

Andre Ethier smoked a ball that didn't make it over the first baseman. The nice play robbed Ethier of probably extra bases.

Instead of running out to first base and smacking the first baseman around, Ethier took out his frustrations on his equipment.

He slammed his helmet and then proceeded to smash it with his bat.

That's how the game works sometimes. You hit the crap out of the ball and someone makes a nice play on it.

Mookie Betts Gave Jose Abreu A Home Run

Mookie Betts made a running catch in right centerfield and his momentum took him over the fence where he dropped the ball. It looked like a catch to me.

After reviewing it, the umpires gave Jose Abreu a home run. I guess you have to secure the ball all the way to the ground?

Wait this is baseball not football.

Either way it's an odd play and an odd home run. I'm sure Abreu will take it.

Brady's Agent Calls The Appeals Process A Sham

Don Yee, Tom Brady's Agent, released a statement following the NFL's decision to uphold Brady's suspension. He accurately calls the appeals process a sham.

There is absolutely no way that a court upholds the suspension. If they do they would be saying that Greg Hardy and Brady's situations deserve the same punishment.

Pedro Martinez Is A Big Fan Of Sandra Bullock, A Really Big Fan

Hall of famer Pedro Martinez is a big fan of Sandra Bullock. He's a really big fan. It was revealed in the book, Feeding the Monster: How Money, Smarts, and Nerve Took a Team to the Top by Seth Mnookin, just how big of a fan he is.

According to the book Pedro once told Sports Illustrated Kids during an interview that Sandra was his favorite actress and that he wanted to "f her." Not exactly what you'd expect from an interview for kids:

Mark Teixeira Got Thrown Out At The Plate And Wasn't Happy About It

Mark Teixeira will never be mistaken for a speedster, but this is pretty bad. During last night's win over the Rangers Tex was thrown out trying to score from second on a soft hit line drive in left center.

Tex was rounding third well before it was picked up and still managed to get thrown out at the plate. He immediately looked at his third base coach and threw his hands up in disgust.

Things didn't get any better in the dugout as the Yankees first baseman decided to knock over a trash can.

I'm not sure what he was so upset about, he should have scored easily.

This is an awesome video. These kids have the whip and nae nae down. J.J. Watt was trying to learn but he has a lot of work to do to get on their level.

A Rod Hit A Home Run On His 40th Birthday

Monday was Alex Rodriguez's 40th birthday. So naturally he was feeling pretty good. He was feeling so good he decided to hit a home run.

A Rod was 1-5 on the night with the solo home run in the Yankees 6-2 win over the Rangers. Not bad way to celebrate a birthday.

The home run was his 24th of the season and his 59th RBI.

Stephen A. Smith Is Skeptical Of A Rod's Success This Season

Stephen A. Smith revealed on First Take yesterday that he is skeptical of Alex Rodriguez's success this season. Smith and Skip Bayless were discussing the possibility of A Rod catching Barry Bonds for top spot on the all time homerun list.

Monday was A Rod's 40th birthday and entering play he was 85 behind Bonds. If continues to play like he is this season for a few more seasons it's possible, but will he be able to?

Following an interview with John Smoltz about Smoltz's Hall of Fame induction yesterday someone was caught on a live mic saying, "tell him to go f himself." It was a whisper but you can definitely hear it.

The Blue Jays Are Really Bad At Base Running

The Blue Jays ran into a triple play yesterday because they suck at running bases. It was so bad one of the runners literally fell off of the base while standing there.

It's some straight up little league type base running that resulted in a triple play. Keep it up Toronto, these are the types of plays that will keep you far behind the Yankees.

Alex Curry Took Mike Trout's Post Game Bath

Alex Curry got caught too close to Mike Trout during her post game interview with the Angels star. Trout was the star of the show with two home runs, one of those was a grand slam that landed in a fan's trout net.

So of course he had a post game bath with his name on it. Trout spoiled it however, and saw the bath coming. He made a break for it, leaving the reporter to fend for herself.

Curry also tried to avoid getting wet, but couldn't get away in time and took the bath intended for Trout. She could have taken a more direct shot, nonetheless she took and did so as a good sport.

Randy Johnson had a pretty touching moment during his Hall of Fame speech where he mentioned speaking to Zach Farmer, a pitcher from Ohio State who is battling leukemia.

Farmer has been given anywhere from a week to thirty days to live, as doctors have told him there is nothing else they can do.

The diagnosis didn't stop the left handed pitcher from marrying his girlfriend of four years on Sunday.

Good for him. That makes for one hell of a day. Get Married and mentioned in a Hall of Fame speech. Let's hope he can beat the odds and somehow recover.

Mike Trout Hit A Grand Slam That A Fan Caught With His Trout Net

Check out this grand slam that Mike Trout smashed into a fan's trout net in right-centerfield. Not only does Trout drop bombs he hits then where he wants.

How else do you explain the fact that this ball happened to go straight to the guy in the seats holding a trout net? This is some next level stuff right here.

I think it's safe to say if he continues playing like this he'll be a back to back MVP.

New Met Juan Uribe Beats One Of His Old Teams With A Walk Off Single

The Mets acquired Juan Uribe a couple of days ago from the Braves, who acquired him from the Dodgers a couple of weeks ago. His first RBI as a Met comes in walk off fashion against the Dodgers.

There were four men inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as a part of the 2015 class. Craig Biggio, John Smoltz, Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez. Technically it was there day.

But one woman stole the show. The wife of John Smoltz.

She is smoking hot and I think she needs to be an instant inductee into the WAG Hall of Fame.

Reggie Jackson was a jerk when he played and he's still a jerk today. Someone dared to ask Jackson for an autograph while on his way to a dinner in Cooperstown, NY. It sent him into a profanity laced tirade that was all caught on camera, because everyone has a phone with a camera.

Is anyone really surprised that Reggie Jackson would cuss out a fan asking for an autograph? To me the surprising thing is that this doesn't occur more often with Jackson.

Cole Hamels no hit the Cubs. Yes all of the Cubs young hitting talent was in the lineup.

So how does that happen? It could be they're a little overhyped. It is after all the same hype machine thay put two Cubs in the home run derby.

We all remember how they did in that event don't we?

Sal Paolantonio Named The NFL Owners Still Pushing For Brady's Suspension

Sal Paolantonio went on a San Diego radio station on Friday to talk about Tom Brady's suspension. Among Sal's revelations was the fact that there are some owners who want Brady's suspension upheld and he named the two biggest, Jim Irsay and Steve Bisctiotti.

"Add in that you’re angering some of the hardcore owners out there. And I know who they are and I'm going to name them right now. Jim Irsay of the Colts, Steve Bisciotti of the Ravens and others in the AFC who believe that the Patriots have gotten away with murder for years and have not been publicly punished properly."

That's right the Colts and Ravens owners. Sure they were both beaten by the Patriots last year in the playoffs. They also are two of the NFL organizations that have had severe off the field issues.

The Ravens with their two Rays and the Colts owner himself with his personal issues.

Get over it you lost, the smear campaign of Brady and the Patriots isn't going to work and won't hold up in court. Worry about yourselves.

Britney Griner Shows Us Why There Isn't A Lot Of Dunking In The WNBA

Britney Griner was put on the spot this morning by Sports Center and asked to dunk on live TV. At 6'8" she has the height to dunk, but it proved easier said than done this morning.

It is a fact that there isn't a lot of dunking going on in the WNBA and she shows us why. Griner missed two out of her three attempts.

Billy Burns fouled a ball directly into the ground and it bounced up and hit him right in the nuts. Kids this is why you wear a cup, even when your batting.

Burns had to leave the game with what was officially called a testicular contusion. I bet he'll be wearing a cup from now on.

Pitcher In The Tampa Bay Rays Organization Found An Alligator In The Visitor's Dugout

Kyle McKenzie, a pitcher for the Charlotte Stone Crabs, tweeted out a picture of an alligator hanging out in the visitor's dugout. That has to be some sort of sign for the opposing team.

The Charlotte Stone Crabs are a high A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and are located in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Olympic gymnasts Shawn Johnson and Alicia Quinn both threw out the first pitch in Chicago at Friday's Cubs game. Which must be what you do after the Olympics, because this isn't the first time Johnson has done it.

Not because he turned her down, but because he wrote her a message on a ball and signed it for her. So while she might've technically struck out, the catcher dropped the third strike and she made it to first.

Alexei Ramirez held up his end on a ground ball up the middle. The White Sox short stop ranged up the middle to make a great diving stop and was able to flip the ball with his glove to the second baseman for the force out.

The second baseman added some flare of his own with a barehanded grab of the flip, but just came up a little shy on the attempt to turn two.

Yankees third baseman Chase Headley missed a grand slam by a few feet. The hit cleared the bases plating 3 runs.

Alex Rodriguez was the lucky one who got to run from first. He clearly was a little tired and really didn't want to slide, resulting in one of the worst slides in the history of baseball.

It was entertaining as hell and he scored, so a win win for Yankees fans.

The Yankees just wrapped up a big series against the Orioles by sweeping them out of New York. They've now won 8 of their last 10 and have a 5.5 game lead in the AL East over the Blue Jays.

Cody Asche of the Phillies lost the grip on his bat as he fouled a pitch off and his bat flew into the stands. The woman it happened to hit in the face was the only one who didn't see it coming.

Benches Cleared During Giants And Padres Game

Both benches and bullpens emptied during the Giants-Padres game last night. It all started when Andrew Thayer threw his gum at Hector Sanchez following a grand slam by Sanchez.

The benches didn't clear then, but the tension got a little higher. Add the fact that the Padres were hitless until the 6th inning and by the 9th they were completely ready for the game to be over.

Padres reliever Shawn Kelley, probably not happy that he was pitching the 9th inning of a 9-0 game, exchanged words with Sanchez after Sanchez grounded out and that's when the benches cleared.

Of course it was one of those let's all stand around and stare at each other type of bench clearing events that finally ended when they decided they were tired of standing around.

This couple was arrested after they started a brawl on a boat with complete strangers over the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry. If that isn't an indication of the football season being right around the corner I don't know what is.

You have to be creative if you're the Brewers to get butts in the seats. The team just isn't doing it.

Detroit managed to lose despite several long balls including J.D. Martinez' bomb that ended up hitting the camera well. An absolute bomb that travelled an estimated 467 feet.

Titans Receiver Arrested Following A Stabbing Outside Of A Bar

Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter has been arrested and charged with felonious assault. The charges stem from a July 3rd fight outside of a bar.

Hunter is the prime suspect in the stabbing that left a victim seeking treatment at a hospital for his wounds.

Hunter's NFL career is likely over before it really had a chance to get going. The 24 year old was the 34th overall pick in the 2013 draft.

Pro surfer, Mick Fanning, was attacked by a shark on live TV during an event in South Africa. He appeared to avoid serious injury and was picked up quickly by the emergency jet skis.

Brett Favre Returned To Lambeau On Saturday For His Packers Hall Of Fame Induction

Brett Favre is probably one of a handful of players who could pack a stadium with football fans, in retirement, in July. It was his first appearance in Lambeau since he finally retired as a member of the Vikings and Favre received an ovation that lasted for 5 minutes.

I think it's safe to say the Packers fans have forgiven Favre for leaving and ending his career with a rival. A pretty awesome scene for the gunslinger.

Favre's number was also retired during the Packers' Hall Of Fame Induction. In November Favre will be honored and his number will be revealed.

41 Year Old Terrell Owens Thinks He Could Still Play, Doesn't Care About Hall Of Fame

Terrell Owens was on The Rich Eisen Show last week and was asked about the Hall Of Fame. The 41 year old said he didn't really care if he made it into the hall or not. I find that very hard to believe.

T.O. should have no problem getting into the Hall Of Fame based on his numbers alone. Owens is 6th in receptions, 2nd in yards and 3rd in receiving touchdowns all time. If he wasn't such a tool he could have added to those numbers.

Owens also added that he recently ran into some current players who commented on how in shape he was. He said that there is no doubt in his mind that he could still play.

Hanley Ramirez Managed To Foul A Ball Off Of His Own Junk

I guess we now know Hanley Ramirez doesn't wear a cup or at least he doesn't while he bats. I'm pretty sure a cup would have offered more protection. He might want to consider wearing one if he's going to foul them like that.

Torii Hunter celebrated his 40th birthday and his Twins teammates reminded him that he's old. They gave Torii diapers and a walker.

After seven seasons away from Minnesota Torri's return has been a welcomed sight.

We've all seen the videos of guys moving out of the way and their ladies getting nailed with a foul ball. This dude definitely didn't do that, but maybe he should have. It doesn't look like she was in danger of being struck with the ball.
