Don Mattingly Threatened To Walk If The Marlins Kept Barry Bonds
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
The firing of Barry Bonds was announced Monday after one season as the Marlins hitting coach. It turns out Don Mattingly is the reason he was fired.
Reports are the Marlins manager was prepared to walk if Bonds wasn't let go.
It seemed like an odd pairing to begin with, so it's not all that surprising he wanted him gone. Not to mention Barry's reputation as a dick when he was a player.

Donnie Baseball would not have stayed on as manager if Bonds returned -- one MLB coach told me.— Kevin Kernan (@WheresKernan) October 3, 2016

Even Dee Gordon's Tiny Ass Is Taking PEDs
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Dee Gordon has been suspended for 80 games after testing positive for PEDs. Yep the Marlins 150lb second baseman took testosterone.
It might explain his NL batting title from last season. Unless this is a new thing that Barry Bonds got him started on.

51 Year Old Barry Bonds Beat The Marlins In A Homerun Contest
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Skinny 51 Year old Barry Bonds beat the Marlins in a batting practice homerun contest. And yes Giancarlo Stanton was one of those who fell to the homerun king.
That can't be a good thing for the Marlins can it?
On the one hand Bonds is the hitting coach so maybe he can pass some of his knowledge onto the players. On the other hand the Marlins lost a homerun hitting contest to a steroidless 51 Year old Barry Bonds.

Look At How Skinny Hitting Coach Barry Bonds Is
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Barry Bonds reported to Miami Marlins spring training looking like the skinny guy who first entered the league. Tell me with a straight face he wasn't on PEDs when he played.
He looks like those offensive lineman that lose a bunch of weight when they retire.

PED User Mike Piazza Inducted Into The Baseball Hall Of Fame
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Admitted user of PEDs, Mike Piazza, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. So why weren't Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens?
Piazza defintely put up the numbers to be in the hall. No doubt about that. He is one of the best hitting catchers to ever play the game. But the PED cloud has taken down players with bigger names and better numbers.

Stephen A. Smith Is Skeptical Of A Rod's Success This Season
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Stephen A. Smith revealed on First Take yesterday that he is skeptical of Alex Rodriguez's success this season. Smith and Skip Bayless were discussing the possibility of A Rod catching Barry Bonds for top spot on the all time homerun list.
Monday was A Rod's 40th birthday and entering play he was 85 behind Bonds. If continues to play like he is this season for a few more seasons it's possible, but will he be able to?
And without PEDs?

Barry Bonds And Willie Mays Share A Bed
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Barry Bonds took a selfie next to a sleeping Willie Mays. In the post Bonds revealed that Mays was in fact asleep, not dead, and that he sleeps next to him. That's perfectly normal, right?
It's as close to the Hall of Fame as Bonds is going to get.

Yes he sleep. #SayHey Willie Mays and yes I sleep next to him. I am so proud to have the best God Father in the world. 😀❤️⚾️ I Love you and everything that you have done for me and my family Willie.A photo posted by Barry L Bonds (@blbonds25) on

Jorge Posada Says A Rod And Clemens Shouldn't Be In The Hall Of Fame
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest

Jorge Posada is making the media rounds to promote his new book. In the book Posada talks about his unhappy final years as a member of the Yankees. When asked if Roger Clemens, Alex Rodriguez or other PED users should be in the hall of fame, Posada said no.
Posada was pretty blunt saying they shouldn't be in the hall of fame because it's not fair to those who played the game clean. It's hard to argue with his view. They're not going to put an asterisks next to guys like Barry Bonds, A Rod on down, but they can refuse to vote them into the hall.

Alex Rodriguez Passed Willie Mays Last Night With Home Run 661
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest

Alex Rodriguez hit home run 661 last night against the Orioles. With the home runA Rod passed Willie Mays for 4th on the all time list.
With Barry Bonds sitting on top of the list how can anyone hate on A Rod? It's a little silly to be talking about an asterisk for Rodriguez, because I don't see one next to Bonds name.
So here it is number 661.

A Rod Is Getting Ready For The Season With Barry Bonds
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Alex Rodriguez isn't the smartest man in baseball, but even he should be able to figure out that working with Barry Bonds following a PED suspension isn't the best move.
Sure Bonds was a great hitter, even without PEDs. That doesn't mean people won't speculate as to what other pointers A Rod might be trying to pick up.
Rodriguez will likely start the season as the Yankees DH and at some point he'll have to address last season's suspension. Adding Bonds to the mix isn't going to make it any easier.

Is Anyone Surprised A Rod Admitted He Used PEDs?
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Reports have surfaced this week that say Alex Rodriguez admitted to investigators that he used PEDs from 2010-2012. I know it's shocking stuff. Is anyone really that surprised?
I'm not. We all knew he used steroids and other PEDs. Not only did he publicly admit prior use, but he put up his best numbers of his career the first time around, so of course he'd do it again. Guys have been using stuff for years.
Sure there was an unwritten acceptance that has since passed. There is also testing in place now. Major League Baseball is cracking down from all kinds of angles. It certainly isn't the best time to continue using PEDs.
Not to mention the fact that Bud Selig doesn't like A Rod. But who said Rodriguez was a genius?
Obviously he lied to the public, but who really cares?

Barry Bonds Threw Out The First Pitch Of Game 4 In San Francisco
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest

Hmm...Barry looks a little different than he did when he played for the Giants.
Barry Bonds, fresh off hip surgery, threw out the first pitch before game 4 of the NLCS. As you can see he still can't throw and as you can hear the Giants fans still love him.

Barry Bonds Showed Up to Giants Spring Training
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
A much slimmer and smaller headed Barry Bonds showed up at the Giants spring training facility. He's either there to give some hitting tips or performance enhancing tips. Bonds is clearly off of the juice now and is not at his later years playing weight.
