Well it's a more severe punishment percentage wise, than
Ray Rice's original two game suspension. Damn you NBA for making me do math.
But yes it is. Rice was originally suspended for 12.5 percent of his team's games and Taylor is suspended for 29 percent of his team's games. But is that enough? Does that really mean the NBA is serious about domestic violence?
Charlotte Hornets forward,
Jeff Taylor, plead guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence. This was the result of an incident where Taylor pushed his girlfriend into a hotel wall, causing damage to the wall.
The Hornets suspended him with pay the following day. The punishment handed down by NBA commissioner,
Adam Silver, states he will be credited for the 11 games he's already missed.
So essentially Charlotte suspended him for 11 games and the NBA will be suspending Taylor for only 13 games or about 16 percent of his team's games.
Is the NBA really serious about domestic violence?
