Referees Blew A Call That Nobody Except Gerry Austin Knew About
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
At the end of the Calvin Johnson fumble a member of the Seahawks batted the ball out of bounds intentionally. That is against the rules and apparently nobody except retired referee Gerry Austin knew about it.
The referees on the field apparently didn't know about the rule, former players and probably every fan who saw the play didn't know about the rule.
The penalty wasn't called on the field and the Seahawks were given the ball at the twenty yard line. According to Austin it should have been the Lions ball at the half yard line.
The NFL's head of officiating also confirmed that the penalty should have been called and the ball placed at the half yard line.
Instead the ball was given the the Seahawks and the Lions are now 0-4. That's a tough way to lose a game.

Calvin Johnson was less than a yard away from putting the Lions on top with under 2 minutes left in the game, when Kam Chancellor came from nowhere and punched the ball out of his arm.
The ball was knocked out of the back of the end zone for the touchback for the Seahawks. The play allowed them to hold on for the 13-10 win.
It was a huge play by Chancellor.

Kam Chancellor is still knocking off the rust from his holdout and knocked a lot off with this shot on Calvin Johnson. He absolutely crushed Megatron.
As big as the hit was on Johnson, he just shrugged it off and hopped right back up.

Calvin Johnson Caught a TD Pass From Miguel Cabrera
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest

Okay, none of that happened. But Miguel Cabrera did throw a baseball into the stands and it was caught by Calvin Johnson. Because that's how Detroit's teams role.
The two Detroit teams are feeling pretty god about things this week as the Lions won their season opener in impressive fashion and the Tigers have climbed back on top of the AL Central.
