Cubs Manager Joe Maddon Weighed In On Not Visiting The White House "It’s Dangerous When Folks In Our Country Stop Respecting The Seat Of The President"

Everyone is weighing in on Trump's comments about NFL protests and his announcement that Steph Curry wouldn't receive an invite to the White House.

Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon spoke with the media yesterday and revealed his plans to meet with a group of Young Republicans before an unplanned visit to the White House.  The honeymoon is officially over.

Joe Maddon Taught Jayson Heyward A Lesson With Bees

Jayson Heyward was attacked in right field by bees during a spring training game yesterday.  The Cubs outfielder did all he could to avoid them even jumping up on the wall.

What The Fuck Is Going On At Cubs Spring Training?

Joe Maddon's completely insane ass had a mime out at spring training.  And all of you jackasses picked them to win the World Series?

Are you kidding me?  The same people who picked the Nationals to win the World Series last year.

Good luck with the team that hired a mime to warm up with.

The Cubs Had Live Music For Their Warmups Because Joe Maddon Is A Genius

Oh my God how much of a genius is Joe Maddon?  He let the Cubs have live music to listen to while they warmed up.  Wow he's so smart.

WTF Is Going On At Cubs Spring Training?

Is Joe Maddon just trying to see what he can get away with?  He first brought some weird 70's van with him and now he has clowns dancing around it.

I'm not one of the people who thinks he's a baseball genius.  In fact I think the man might be slowly sliding into full blown insanity.

Kevin Millar Just Guaranteed That The Cubs Won't Win The World Series

Sorry Cubs fans the postseason misery will continue.  Sure you have Back To The Future on your side, but Kevin Millar picked the Cubs to win the World Series.

So the Cubs guaranteed not to win it.  I doubt the magic that Theo Epstein and Joe Maddon bring, even combined with the power of Back To The Future, is strong enough to overpower the curse of Millar's pick.

The curse might even be strong enough to take them out tonight.

Cubs Manager Joe Maddon Cried Like A Baby After Game Against The Cardinals

The Cardinals hit Anthony Rizzo on the back of his leg after Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday was hit in the head and the Cubs manager is the one crying after the game.

It started when Rizzo, the MLB leader in hit by pitch, was hit by a pitch.  The Cubs then hit Holliday and Rizzo was hit again.

Joe Maddon went on a post game rant about the Cardinals book and how the Cubs don't start stuff they end it.  A bunch of garbage from a cry baby.

See Maddon ranting and crying here.

How your team hit someone in the head and you're the one pissed off after the game is beyond me.  Of course the Cubs claim that the pitcher didn't mean to hit Holliday.

For starters you can't admit that you intentionally hit someone with a pitch.  Not to mention the fact that a major league caliber pitcher hardly ever misses their spot that badly.

Did he mean to hit him in the head?  Probably not.  Did he mean to hit him?  I say he absolutely did.

Madden needs to take his tough guy act somewhere else.  You can cry about it and be the tough guy.

Cubs Fan Hit With A Foul Ball

It wasn't a good weekend to be a Major League Baseball fan.  Okay, that might have been an overstatement.  It wasn't a good weekend for two MLB fans.

A woman was hit with a foul ball in Detroit and have to be taken to the hospital on Friday night.  On Sunday another woman in Chicago took a foul ball to the dome.  She too had to be taken to the hospital.

Of course there are those who are crying for protective netting, because they would rather not pay complete attention while at the game.  Cubs manager Joe Maddon also thinks the lack of focus on the game is in part to blame for fans getting struck with foul balls, via NBC Chicago:
"It's awful, pay attention," Joe Maddon, the Cubs' manager, said. "Those are wonderful seats, probably paying a lot of money for them. I see people turning their back to the action. You can't do it."

"When you're at the ballpark, watch what's going on," Maddon said. "Every time a ball is pitched, you look, you look, then you can talk. When my family is there, I insist that they pay attention to what's going on."
A lot of people don't understand that and think that just because they're not on their phone that they're paying attention.  You have to truly 100% pay attention when you're that close to the action.

If you aren't willing to do that don't sit in those seats.

Junior Lake Hit A Home Run And Then Acted Like An Idiot

With the Cubs down 6-0, Junior Lake hit a two run home run.  He stood and watched, threw in a bat flip then made his way around the bases.  But he wasn't done there, he shushed the Marlins bench as he rounded third.

Now let's remember the score after the home run was 6-2.  Of course the Marlins took issue with Lake's little show and the benches cleared for a few minutes.

After the incident Cubs manager, Joe Maddon, had words with his outfielder and wasn't a fan of what he called a "punk" move.

Joe Maddon Was Ejected For Questioning Balls And Strikes, Naturally Got His Money's Worth

Joe Maddon was tossed for yelling at the home plate umpire after a strike was called on a Cubs batter.  Honestly it didn't look like all that bad of a call, the batter did one of those little league swat moves that makes the pitch appear to be high.

Either way it was a strike and Maddon got tossed.  He didn't leave without dropping an F bomb that was picked up by the TV microphone.

Even though I don't want to, because I don't like him, I have to give him props for going out and getting his point across.

It's 2015 And The Cubs Are Still The Cubs

It's 2015 and the Cubs now have Jon Lester and Joe Maddon so they're supposed to win every game now. Back To The Future said they would win it all dammit.  Aren't these two enough?

Well that is what the "experts" say.  They're loaded with young talent, and have been for several years now, all they needed was a captain for the ship and an ace to anchor the rotation.

On opening night in a stadium not ready for play due to renovations, the Cubs are still the Cubs.  On the field they did what they do and got shutout and off of it, the bathrooms situation was so bad fans were peeing in cups.

Joe Maddon Dressed Like A Youth Sports Coach

For some reason Joe Maddon decided to pay tribute to youth sports coaches by dressing like a middle school gym teacher.  This must be part of his magic, I have no idea.

He rattled off a bunch of names of "former youth coaches."  How would anyone be able to prove that he didn't just make them up?

If this isn't evidence of Maddon being a nut job I don't know what more you need.

Joe Maddon Opted Out Of His Contract No Longer Rays Manager

After failing to reach a new deal with the Tampa Bay Rays, Joe Madden opted out of the final year of his contract. The Rays announced Maddon's decision, via CBS Sports:
“Joe Maddon has exercised an opt-out in his current contract, a contract which was not scheduled to expire until after the 2015 season. We tried diligently and aggressively to sign Joe to a third contract extension prior to his decision. As of yesterday afternoon, Joe enabled himself to explore opportunities throughout Major League Baseball. He will not be managing the Rays in 2015. Joe has been our manager for nine seasons, and the foundation of success laid during his tenure endures. We thank him for all that he’s meant to the organization.”
