Clayton Kershaw was an error away from a perfect game.  The Dodgers' young left handed star made a bit of history with his 15 strikeouts as well, via LA Times:

"I'll remember this for the rest of my life," Kershaw said.

Never in major league history had a pitcher given up neither a hit nor a walk while striking out 15. The only pitcher with more strikeouts in a no-hitter: Nolan Ryan, the all-time strikeout leader.

As a pitcher whenever your mentioned with Nolan Ryan you're doing something right.  This was the first of probably many no hitters for Kershaw and it was as dominate as they come.

Nolan Ryan threw out the first pitch at yesterday's Astros vs Yankees game and it looks like either he doesn't have it anymore or he was brushing a batter back.  Whatever it was he left a little magic on the mound as the Yankees couldn't get anything going against Scott Feldman.

It is still amusing.
