Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen was on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the National League MVP proposed to his girlfriend Maria Hansloven.  The Pirates star got down on one knee and pulled out a ring in the middle of the show, while explaining:

"I didn't do any of this for the publicity...I didn't do any of this for the recognition...I did this to show you that if I could tell the whole world how much that I love you, I would do that."
