Free agent running back Chris Johnson was shot in the shoulder at around 4:00 am Sunday morning.  The vehicle the former Titan and Jet was travelling in was shot at by another car as it was stopped at a red light.

The driver of Johnson's vehicle died from his injuries and another passenger also was hit by the gunfire.  The two men who survived were reported to be in stable condition, via Orlando Sentinel:

Deputies responded to a shooting call and arrived to find a Jeep the driver dead inside and two other men with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.

The victims, Reggie Johnson and Chris Johnson, both 29, said that an unknown vehicle pulled up beside them at the red light and opened fire into the Jeep, deputies said.

The deceased driver was identified as Dreekius Oricko Johnson, 28.

I'm positive this isn't how Johnson wanted to start off free agency.  The running back was already arrested since his season ended.

Not long after the Titans released Chris Johnson, he's found a new team.  After meeting with the Jets yesterday, the two sides came to an agreement and Johnson is now a Jet.

He joins a revamped offense that has added Micheal Vick and Eric Decker this off season and looks to put up some point this year.  The Jets announced the Johnson deal on twitter:

With all of their moves this off season on the offense are they now legit?

The talks between the Titans and Chris Johnson's agent over a new contract have stalled. This according to Johnson himself who tweeted the news this morning.  If they can't agree on a new contract the Titans will probably cut Johnson who has $8 million dollars left on his current deal.

My agent and titans front office had a talk yesterday and everything is still at a stand still so it's a ... http://t.co/4hqvo95RDE

Marlins pitching phenom Jose Fernandez took exception to Evan Gattis' gaze at his home run.  He exchanged words with Chris Johnson during Johnson's at bat.  Then Fernandez hit a home run of his own- stood and watched it, then spit towards Johnson as he rounded third.  When Fernandez reached the plate Brian McCann had some words for the young pitcher and of course the benches cleared.
