Michigan tight end Jake Butt likely cost himself in the upcoming NFL draft by injuring his knee in a meaningless Orange Bowl game, via Yahoo Sports:
The Michigan senior is projected as one of the top tight ends — a potential first round pick — in the upcoming NFL draft. But now that stock could take quite a hit after Butt suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Wolverines’ Orange Bowl loss to Florida State Friday night.
Butt took to Twitter and pretty much said he wouldn't change a thing.
Xtremely proud of the way these guys competed 2nite. Left it all out there! Its been a great 4 years @ this univ & I wouldnt change anything— jake butt (@JBooty_88) December 31, 2016
Thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes. God has a plan for me and I know through him I can overcome anything !— jake butt (@JBooty_88) December 31, 2016
never once crossed my mind to sit this game out and I would never change that mindset. I play this game bc I love it, my teammates, coaches— jake butt (@JBooty_88) December 31, 2016
If that is truly the case then he needs to be evaluated for a concussion too. Because he’s either suffered a head injury or took out an insurance policy. Dropping in the draft could cost him millions of dollars.
