LeBron James Is Okay With Kevin Love's MVP Choice

Or so he says.  LeBron James was asked after the Cavaliers practice on Tuesday about comments his teammate Kevin Love made.  Specifically when Love said he would pick Russell Westbrook over him for MVP this season.

There are several worthy MVP candidates and picking Westbrook wouldn't seem unusual, except for when one of the choices is your teammate.  You have to back your teammate.

Lebron answered the question about as well as one could.  Saying nobody should fault Love for his pick, via ESPN:
"I don't really think too much of it, really," James said after Cleveland Cavaliers practice on Tuesday. "I don't really get involved in that. I think the voters are going to decide who is the MVP. I think what Russ has been doing, his numbers have been pretty crazy keeping those guys afloat in the West in his play. Steph Curry can make a case, for sure, what he's been doing -- James Harden and myself, as well. So, Kevin has his own opinion of who he believes is the MVP. No one should fault him for that."
Now I don't know if LeBron meant what he said or not, that really doesn't matter, he backed his teammate.  Do you see that Kevin?  That's how it's done!

That is having your teammate's back.

Vanderbilt's Luke Kornet Got KO'd During NIT Game Last Night Against Stanford

Vanderbilt's Luke Kornet took a little nap last night in Vandy's NIT loss to Stanford.  It was of course a scary moment as Kornet caught an elbow right on the chin from Stanford's Anthony Brown.

The accidental elbow came as Kornet was guarding Brown, who was going on his way to the basket.  The elbow was a direct hit and dropped Kornet immediately.

Kornet may have also hit his head on the floor during the fall and was clearly out for a split second.  He was able to walk off of the floor with help from a teammate and did not return, having suffered a concussion.

Shaq Danced And Sang The Little Einsteins Theme Song On Inside The NBA

Shaq has always been one to entertain and he stepped that up last night on Inside The NBA.  During one of his "BBQ Chicken" segments, Shaq somehow ended up doing a dance called Whip and singing the theme to The Little Einsteins.

Yes it happened, here is the proof:

Jameis Winston Is In Great Shape

Just kidding.  With the NFL draft just a little over a month away Jameis Winston still doesn't look like ge's about to be a professional athlete.  He also doesn't look like an NFL number 1 pick.

Who is telling him that it's a good idea to keep posting shirtless pics?

Stephen Curry Threw Down A Rare Dunk

Stephen Curry is known for his sharp shooting not his dunking ability.  He certainly isn't going to posterize anybody.

The only time Curry dunks is on fast breaks. That's just what happened last night.  He found himself out in front of the break and decided to remind us all that he can in fact dunk.

Brock Lesnar Is Returning To WWE, Retiring From UFC

Brock Lesnar had been training for a return to the UFC he revealed during a Sports Center interview.  But he's decided to officially retire from the UFC and return to the WWE.

Lesnar added that he will not consider a return to the UFC.  He's closing the door on mixed martial arts for good.

I don't watch WWE but I assume this is big news in that world.  Especially with a Wrestlemania coming up.

Flip Saunders Salty With Utah Announcers

Flip Saunders said "you know" about 30 times in a rant about the Utah announcers.  He said he received several text messages from friends about the Jazz broadcast claiming that the Timberwolves were tanking the rest of the season, via Star Tribune:
“That’s totally irresponsible, we’re not tanking games,” Saunders said. “If that’s so, then [Utah] got beat by a team who was tanking. … We’re playing to win. Our guys are out there: We won two games ago at New York, we lost in the fourth quarter against Charlotte last night. We’re not tanking games. It is irresponsible for them to go on TV saying that. If you work at ESPN, you get fired for saying stuff like that.”
Flip pointed out that his team currently has several injuries it's dealing with and even had to sign a D League player to help fill a roster spot.  Not only that the Timberwolves beat the Jazz.  If they're tanking that apparently includes beating Utah.

The Yankees Recreated A Scene From The Baseball Movie Sandlot

The New York Yankees seem to be having a relaxing spring training.   So relaxing they have time to recreate a scene from Sandlot.  The scene, of course, references one of the greatest Yankees of all time, Babe Ruth.

Something tells me they wouldn't be doing this if Derek Jeter were still playing.  The skit includes current Yankees Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury, Brian McCann and Dellin Betances to name a few.

This Is The Most Insane Baseball Play You'll Ever See

This video from a high school baseball game is probably the most insane baseball video you'll ever see.

A sinking line drive was hit to center and you can see the centerfielder dive for the ball.  What happened next will blow your mind.

The ball hit the center fielder in the head and ended up, in the air, in left field.  The left fielder caught the ball in the air and threw out the runner at second for a double play.

I've been watching and playing baseball for 30 years and I've never seen anything like that happen on a baseball field, or any other field for that matter.

Dana White Said Rousey Would Beat Laila Ali

TMZ caught up with UFC president Dana White and asked him about a Ronda Rousey-Laila Ali fight.  He was almost giddy at the thought of the fight and told Ali to call him if she was interested.

White continued by saying he thought Rousey would beat Ali, "somewhere in the 14 second range."  He added that wrestling training wouldn't even improve Ali's chances.

Deron Williams Can Still Break Ankles When He Wants

Deron Williams is no longer considered an elite point guard.  He can pull out those skills when needed.

Last night he double crossed over a defender making him look silly.  Williams didn't stop there either, he took it to the hole and scored.

The Crying Villanova Girl Got To Play On The Tonight Show

It turns out the crying Villanova girl was playing a piccolo not a flute.  Unless a piccolo is a type of flute, what the hell do I look like some sort of instrument expert?

Anyway the crying Villanova piccolo girl was on The Tonight Show as a guest member of the house band The Roots.  Not only did she get to play with them Jimmy Fallon also gave her tickets to see Taylor Swift.

Because everything is better with a little Taylor Swift, even an early exit from the NCAA Tournament.

So what did we learn kids?  Do something that gets televised on national TV and ride out your 15 minutes.

Kevin Love Picked Westbrook Over LeBron For MVP

As a guest on The Dan Patrick Show, Kevin Love was asked who he thought was deserving of the MVP award- Russell Westbrook or his teammate LeBron James.  Love picked Westbrook.

This comes on the heels of a Mike & Mike interview where Love admitted he and LeBron weren't the best of friends.

Love might have been honest and correct in his answer of Westbrook for MVP.  But in this case you have to pick your teammate.

Tim Duncan Shows His Dance Moves On The Bench

In the middle of the Spurs beat down of the cooling Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio's big man showed of his dance moves.  After all of these years and all of the rings Tim Duncan is still having a good time.  Even though most of the time you don't know whether he's enjoying himself or not.

Duncan's bench dance moves are on point.  For his sake I hope Gregg Popovich doesn't see him dancing on the bench.

Adrian Peterson Rode A Camel Into His Birthday Party

Is this My Super Sweet 16?  For some reason, I'm sure a good one, Adrian Peterson rode a camel into his Arabian themed 30th birthday party.  I guess his issues with the NFL and Vikings aren't too serious and he expects to be making some more money next season.

Why else blow a shit ton of money on a themed birthday party?  This is a pretty outrageous way to enter anything let alone your 30th birthday.

Check Out The Fonz Throwing Up The Shocker For Wichita State

Who knew The Fonz was a Wichita State fan?  Maybe he's not but he did take a picture with some Wichita State fans throwing up the old "Shocker."

And it might just burn down the entire internet.

Jerry Jones' Daughter Defends Cowboys Signing Of Greg Hardy

Charlotte Jones Anderson, daughter of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, sat down for an interview about the Cowboys decision to sign Greg Hardy.  She serves as Executive Vice President/Chief Brand Officer for the Cowboys and on the NFL's Conduct Committee.  This is probably just the beginning of a continued effort by the Cowboys to defend there Hardy signing.

In her comments Anderson points to "experts" who have been advising the league about domestic violence issues.  She says it is fact that providing a "path out" coupled with educational programs, rehabilitative therapy and resources for both the victim and the perpetrator is better and does more to protect the victim and prevent future violence than a zero tolerance policy.

I think no matter what there will be people who think Hardy deserves a second chance and those who think that he should never play another down in the NFL.  I fall on the side that says he deserves a second chance.

Joe Maddon Dressed Like A Youth Sports Coach

For some reason Joe Maddon decided to pay tribute to youth sports coaches by dressing like a middle school gym teacher.  This must be part of his magic, I have no idea.

He rattled off a bunch of names of "former youth coaches."  How would anyone be able to prove that he didn't just make them up?

If this isn't evidence of Maddon being a nut job I don't know what more you need.

Dick Vitale Did Sports Center Without Pants

Dick Vitale has it made.  First he made out with an actress 30 years younger than him and now he's doing Sports Center without pants.

Vitale has made appearances on ESPN throughout the tournament with many of them coming from some sort of remote office somewhere.  Is it in his own home?  Who knows?

What we do know, thanks to a tweet Dickie V sent out prior to last night's appearance on Sports Center, is that he's been doing these appearances with out pants.

Here is the evidence:

I think it's pretty clear to see that he's got no pants on.  You have to love getting old because you have no more shits to give.

Tebow Stopped By Manny Pacquiao's Training Camp

As Tim Tebow prepares for a possible return to the NFL he took some time to stop by Manny Pacquiao's training camp.  Pacquiao is of course preparing for his fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Looks like the two are pretty good friends.  I may have to rethink my pick for the fight.

Is it possible to lose with Tebow and Jesus on your side?

Good to be with my brother in Christ @TimTebow

Charles Barkley Analyzing College Hoops Like He Has A Clue What Is Going On

Clearly Charles Barkley didn't do his homework prior to working as a college basketball analyst this weekend.  Because Barkley made a comment about a Kansas player that isn't even playing, via Gamedayr:
Barkley casually comments on the performance of Kansas freshman Cliff Alexander, but Alexander hasn’t played since February 23 because of questions about his eligibility.

Barkley’s analysis of Alexander was “playing pretty good.” Okay then, Chuck.

I wonder if Barkley is actually watching the games before he proceeds to “analyze” them.
To be far to Chuck, his job is normally at the NBA level.  He's obviously a casual college basketball observer.  My real question was why didn't the network review what he was going to talk about and let him know the dude was suspended?

Stephen Curry Made A Layup As He Fell To The Floor

You have to respect Stephen Curry's three point shooting ability.  You also have to respect his ability to get to the rim.  On this play he was able to blow past his defender because the defender over pursued the three pointer.

But Curry shows even when he's knocked to the floor he can still flip the ball up to the rim and make the tough shot.  This is an incredible layup.

I just have one question, was the ball out of his hand before his knee touched?

UNC Advanced To The Sweet 16 And Roy Williams Did This

Angry old white man and head coach of the University of North Carolina basketball team, Roy Williams, let loose after advancing to the Sweet 16.  He jumped around and acted like an idiot with his team.

Who knew Williams knows how to relax and have a good time?  He's probably just happy his team didn't choke and made it to at least the Sweet 16.

Cat Barber Wants To Know "The F Wrong With Barack Obama?"

NC State upset number 1 seed Villanova 71-68.  The Wolfpack made a Nova flutist cry after the game and now have likely upset the FCC as well.  Cat Barber had a question that he asked in the locker room and it was caught on live TV.

The question included a shot at the president and a F bomb.  barber asked, "The F wrong with Barack Obama?"  Barber wasn't making some sort of political stand, he was questioning the president's pick to win the game.  Obama, as I;m sure many did, Had Nova beating NC State.

Yep that much discussed bracket has been busted...again.

This Tells You All You Need To Know About The Villanova-NC State Game

This is the saddest look at the NCAA Tournament.  Villanova was knocked out of the tournament by a hot NC State team who managed a 71-68 win.  Cameras caught a Villanova flute player in tears to create the saddest moment of the tournament.

Are you happy with yourselves Wolfpack?

Steve Nash Announced His Retirement

Former NBA MVP Steve Nash announced his retirement on The Players' Tribune today.  The post titled: Life After Basketball, starts off with a simple sentence, "I'm retiring."  So with that Nash has officially ended his basketball career.  A career that some might say has been over for a few years now.

There will be no farewell tour for the Lakers point guard, who has struggled to stay healthy the past few seasons.  Instead he'll walk away after 18 years.
I'm retiring.

I heard someone once say there comes a day when they tell us all that we can’t play anymore. We’re not good enough. Surplus to requirements. Too slow, maybe. When you’re a teenager with outsized dreams and a growing obsession, and someone tells you this ain’t gonna last forever, it’s scary. I never forgot it.

So what did I do? Stayed obsessed. Set goals. Worked. Dreamed. Schemed. Pushed myself beyond what was normal or expected. I looked at my hero, Isiah Thomas, and thought to myself, “OK, I’m nowhere near the player he is but if I get better every day for 5 or 10 years, why can’t I be as good as him?”
You wish all athletes could walk away on their own terms.  For some that just isn't the case, their bodies fail them and they can no longer play the sport they love at the highest level.

It looks like Nash will have some role going forward with The Players' Tribune as he has the title of Senior Producer.  Not sure what all of the titles mean but I'm sure we'll continue to see his work on the site.

Tony Parker Flirts With Allie LaForce During Post Game Interview

UCLA's Tony Parker played a pivotal role in UCLA's victory over UAB on Saturday, dropping a career high 28 points.  That landed the big man an interview with sideline reporter Allie LaForce.  Parker made the most of his opportunity to speak with her and flirted with her just before the interview's conclusion.

He complimented the blonde beauty's bracelet before he headed to the locker room to celebrate the win.

Willie Cauley-Stein Dunked All Over Two Cincinnati Players

March Madness is rolling along and Kentucky is too.  They took on Cincinnati today and as expected the Wildcats took care of business.

During the game two Cincinnati players got destroyed by Willie Cauley-Stein.  He dunked on two players for one of the best dunks of the entire tournament.

Derrick Williams Posterized Bismack Biyombo

During last night's Kings-Hornets game Derrick Williams dunked all over Bismack Biyombo.  This dunk was so devastating Biyombo's family members have hurt feelings.

It will probably be on a finalist for dunk of the year.

John Wall Pulled Out The Spinning Layup To Get Around A Defender

Matt Barnes stepped in front of John Wall in an attempt to draw a charge.  That didn't faze Wall, turns out he has a spinning layup to use just for this situation.

B button!  Spin around the defender in the air and have a wide open layup to show for it.

Great move.

Marcus Smart Invented A New Way To Get Through A Screen And Was Ejected

Marcus Smart was ejected from tonight's game against the Spurs because he punched Matt Bonner in the dick.  He seriously just decided to punch Bonner in the crotch as punishment for being screened I guess.

This is the second time this month that Smart has been ejected from the game.  I think he likes having the showers to himself.  This type of play right here is completely uncalled for, he didn't even attempt to hide the fact that he was hitting Bonner in the twig and berries.  He wound up and just swung his entire arm at him.

Smart probably deserves a game or two suspension for this dirty play.

A Rod Hit Another Spring Training Home Run

Looks like the Yankees might be paying Alex Rodriguez all of those home run bonuses in his contract after all.  The aging slugger can still hit the ball out of the park and even goes opposite field on the home run he hit today against the Tigers.  The homer was A Rod's second of the spring and even after sitting out all of last year he's looked okay at the plate.

Presumably he's doing this clean as well.  I think the Yankees, despite having to pay milestone home run bonuses would be very pleased if A Rod was able to hit .250 and put 20-25 in the seats.  He's certainly off to a nice start as the regular season approaches.

Clayton Kershaw Got Hit In The Face With A Line Drive

Clayton Kershaw took a line drive off of the face in a spring training game today against Oakland.  The ball came off of a broken bat and caught Kershaw on the cheek as he was turning away from the ball.

Good news for the Dodgers and their fans, the ace left hander shook it off and was able to stay in the game.  Can't question his toughness.

Colin Cowherd Apologized For Saying Oregon Was Wonderful And Mostly White

Colin Cowherd made some strange comments about Oregon being wonderful and full of mostly white people.  When taken out of context it looks pretty bad, but he was mocking Oregon.

Settle down, it was a joke.  Colin had to apologize and explain the context because of blogs and twitter.

So here is the apology and the context around the wonderful, white Oregon statement.

Russell Wilson Spotted With A Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model

Russell Wilson was spotted cruising around with non other than Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Samantha Hoopes.  No word on whether they were just out for a joy ride or if the two are mixing it up as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Wilson of course is back on the market after splitting with his wife last year.

Wilson would be following in his pal Derek Jeter's footsteps, as he too dates a SI Swimsuit model.  Can say that I blame him, Hoopes is on fire.

Hockey Player Ate A Hamburger That Was Thrown On The Ice

After the Ottawa Senators home game wins the fans throw hamburgers on the ice.  Why hamburgers?  Because Ottawa's goalie, Andrew Hammond, is nicknamed "The Hamburglar."

Sounds like a free postgame meal to me!

I'm not the only one either.  Hammond's teammate Curtis Lazar thought it was a good idea too, so he picked one up and started eating it as he left the ice.

Octavius Ellis Got Ejected During The Cincinnati-Purdue Game For A Dirty Elbow

Cincinnati's Octavius Ellis was sent to the showers early last night for throwing a nasty elbow during his team's win over Purdue.  It was really a stupid play especially when the refs have the ability to review flagrant fouls.

Despite his March Madness, Ellis is expected to be able to play in the next round.  But nothing is certain with the NCAA.

James Harden Dropped 50 Points Last Night

James Harden dropped 50 points last night as he continues to add to his bid for league MVP.  He doesn't have to convince his teammates.

As you can see here when his postgame interview was interrupted by a teammate with a chest bump.

Tony Romo Wanted DeMarco Murray Back

Tony Romo was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel and told a story of trying to convince the Cowboys ownership to re-sign DeMarco Murray.  He pretty much said that both he and owner Jerry Jones only have about 5 years left to win a Super Bowl.

Romo of course would be retiring and Jones, well I think he accidentally said that the Cowboys owner only has about 5 years left period.  Of course they let Spray Tan sign with one of their rivals, the Eagles.

Larry Brown And Yanick Moreira Upset During Postgame Interview

SMU's heartbreaking defeat to UCLA due to a goaltend had both the head coach, Larry Brown, and the player called for the goaltend, Yanick Moreira, upset after the game.

This postgame interview is one of the sadest you'll ever see.  Brown was clearly sullen while Moreira couldn't hold back his emotion and shed some tears.

Rick Sutcliffe Questioned Whether Or Not A Rod Was Going To Make The Yankees

Terrible ESPN baseball announcer Rick Sutcliffe was enjoying the sound of his own voice when he spit this little gem out.  He said after Alex Rodriguez lined out that he didn't know, if A Rod made the team home much he would play third base.

It's highly unlikely the Yankees cut A Rod given his the amount of money he's still owed.  It's a ridiculous statement for Sutcliffe to make.  He is a moron however so while it's ridiculous it isn't surprising.

UFC Ring Girl Arianny Celeste Did A Playboy Photo Shoot And This Is The Behind The Scenes Video

Arianny Celeste is a beautiful model and of course one of the most popular UFC Ring Girls.  She recently did a photo shoot for Playboy.

Of course the video is going to set the internet on fire, because how could it not?

Check it out after the jump.

UCLA Beat SMU On A Goaltend Call

People are describing this goaltending call as controversial, but I've watched the video like 10 times and can't tell if it was a goaltend.  Either way the call was made and counted as a 3 pointer putting UCLA up by a point and ending SMU's season.

Tough way to have a tournament game end and you would hope that in a time where replay is used that a call this big would be able to be reviewed.

It isn't and wasn't and UCLA moves on.  I'm sure Bill Walton has something insane to say about it.

Another 14 Seed Beat A 3 Seed: Georgia State Beat Baylor With Last Second 3 Pointer

Georgia State's R.J. Hunter nailed a 3 pointer with just a couple of seconds left on the clock to beat Baylor 57-56.  It was the second 14 seed to knock off a 3 seed today, forget the 12 seed vs 5 seed match up.

Hunter's 3 pointer came from a different area code too.  Just when it looked like Georgia State was going to run out of time figuring out what play to run Hunter heaved up the long shot to bury Baylor's dream.

If your bracket somehow wasn't messed up by the Iowa State loss to UAB this definitely turned it into a piece of garbage.

That Was Fast! 3 Seed Iowa State Lost To 14 Seed UAB

@Big12Refs

There goes your bracket right out the gate!!! Number 14 seed UAB upset number 3 seed Iowa State 60-59.  Exhibit A of why brackets and bracketology is stupid.

I doubt very highly there were any so called experts who picked this upset.  Hell some picked them to make the Final Four.

Buckle up it's officially March Madness.
