Chase Utley With An Absolute Takeout Of Ruben Tejada At Second Base

11:52 PM Chase Utley , MLB 0 Comments

This play will spark a debate about breaking up double plays at second base for sure.  Especially when one of the players has to be carted off of the field.

Chase Utley absolutely destroyed Ruben Tejada at second base to break up a potential double play.  The play allowed the tying run to score.

I'm all for going in hard at second, but Utley was very late on his slide.  You're supposed to make an attempt to slide into the bag.  I don't think he did that.
