Scott Boras Started The Matt Harvey Innings Limit Talk

Scott Boras is the one who started the Matt Harvey innings limit talk.  At the request of his client.  Yep Matt Harvey, the same guy complaining about the 6 man rotation and being taken out of the game.

Boras reached out to Dr. James Andrews and ask about the amount of innings Harvey should pitch this season after his Tommy John surgery.  He did so after 140 innings had already been logged by the right hander.

That's right it wasn't the Mets.  They appear to have been completely oblivious to the fact that there might be innings restrictions following Tommy John surgery.

Typical Mets right?

Anyway Andrews said that Harvey shouldn't throw more innings than the most he had ever thrown in his career.  That number is 178.  Boras also consulted another leading doctor who put that number at 165 innings.

Boras then went to the Mets with the innings restrictions.  Again a complete failure by the Mets who should have asked the doctors well before the season even started.

So despite the public perception of the situation Harvey and his agent are the ones who brought up innings limitations not the Mets.

This isn't a situation where the Mets are trying to prevent an injury, as is often the case with innings limitations, Harvey is coming off of an injury.  These limits are coming from the doctors.

He claims publicly he wants the ball, but that doesn't seem to be the case behind closed doors.  Put his ass on the DL.
